1746-NIO4V AB

The 1746-NIO4V is an analog combined I/O module used to enhance the SLC 500 control system. It is a module in the SLC 500 controller that provides a unique and easy-to-use interface with two input channels and two output channels. The combination of inputs and outputs in the same module allows expansion in a space – and cost saving manner. The input channel can be selected by the user through switches on the analog control module. To configure the input to current, move the switch to the ON position. To configure the voltage input, move the switch to the OFF position. Channels are not isolated separately.

1746 – NIO4V backplane current consumption is 55mA at 5V and 115mA at 24V power supply. During normal operation, the input range of 1746-NIO4V is – 20 to+20 mA. The absolute maximum input current range is – 30 to+30 mA. The absolute maximum input voltage range is – 7.5 to+7.5 V dc. The step response of the 1746-NIO4V voltage output is 2.5 ms at 95%.

When installing the 1746-NIO4V, ensure that the module is placed in the chassis closest to the bottom of the enclosure where the SLC 500 system is installed. If installed in a modular system, place the module away from the chassis power supply. Use caution when connecting 1746-NIO4V using a shielded communication cable (Belden # 8761) and grounding only one end. In addition, try to keep the cable as short as possible and use a power supply that matches the transmitter specifications
