About 1756-RM

Allen Bradley 1756-RM is a ControlLogix redundant module. This module can only be used with the ControlLogix platform to enable controller redundancy. It manages the connection of two (2) identical controllers installed in the same rack with the same components and configurations. It provides redundant system monitoring and module health status through embedded LED displays such as PRI, COM, and OK.

1756-RM has been released as Series A and B. The series is essentially an enhancement of the previous series, but 1756-RM with different series can coexist in a redundant configuration. It is strongly recommended to install the same series to achieve maximum operability with redundant settings. When used with redundant modules in the same series, the speed can reach 100Mbps.

1756-RM comes with one (1) single mode LC fiber optic connector. It requires the use of 1756-RMCx redundant cables to synchronize the operation of redundant controller pairs. You can use the redundancy configuration tool to configure the controller to set redundancy, and use the Studio 5000 Logix designer to configure the overall parameters of the module.

This module is compatible with 1756-A4, 1756-A7, 1756-A10, 1756-A13, 1756-A17 ControlLogix chassis, 1756-PA72, 1756-PA75, 1756-PB72, 1756-PB75 standard power supplies, and 1756-PA75R, 1756-PB75R, 1756-PSCA2 redundant power supplies. It is a single slot module that can be installed in any available slot in the chassis. The redundant pair must have the same configuration as the partner chassis.
