About 1764-LRP

Allen Bradley 1764-LRP is a MicroLogix 1500 processor. It is a component of the MicroLogix 1500 programmable controller that provides large memory solutions for various applications. It provides 14K words of user configurable memory for data and programs. For a 1K word program (including bits, counters, timers, and mathematical instructions), its program execution time is approximately 1 millisecond. In the controller system, the 1764-LRP processor unit provides fine tuning potentiometer, run/remote/program mode switch, communication switch button and logic processing. It is used as the interface of real-time clock, DAT and memory module. This processor supports up to eight I/O modules in an additional I/O bank using controller components.

The 1764-LRP processor comes with an additional communication port, DTE (male) 9-pin D-type housing connector, with 30 volt DC isolation. This RS-232 port is electrically isolated and used for point-to-point and SCADA/RTU networks, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, and DH-485 ports. It can be configured separately for any supported communication protocol (channel 1). Because 1764-LRP is an enhanced version of the standard processing unit, there is no need for an isolator when connecting a MicroLogix controller system using 1764-LRP to a computer. This module requires a backup battery after its battery indicator light comes on, as the original battery can only last for at least 7 days.

Allen Bradley’s 1764-LRP is a MicroLogix 1500 controller primarily designed for small, low-level applications. This controller is directly connected to any MicroLogix 1500 basic unit, such as 1764-24AWA, 1764-24BWA, and 1764-28BXB. It is equipped with a separately configured dual RS232 port. The MicroLogix 1500 product series, including the 1764-LRP basic unit, is designed specifically for DIN rail installation. It also supports the installation of local expansion modules and remote installations using communication I/O groups through DeviceNet communication modules (especially 1764-SDN). By using this module, the controller can communicate with up to 63 slave devices.

he 1764-LRP integrated memory is divided into 10 KB user programs and 4 KB user data. Its rated processing speed is as high as 1 millisecond per 1K user program. By providing integrated memory, the controller can handle up to 512 I/Os, including expansion modules.

1764-LRP supports data logging. It can be triggered by time or event triggering. This allows for controlled data storage with timestamp in 48 KB of memory. This record can be used for data history and analysis.
