About 1771-IR

Allen Bradley 1771-IR is a PLC-5 RTD input with actual temperature and ohmic reading data formats supported by natural binary BDC. This device does not require any type of external power supply. It consists of six three wire RTD inputs.

The channel update resolution of this device combines 50ms/6 channels and 16 bit+symbols (1.0 degrees Celsius/1.0 degrees Fahrenheit/bit). The voltage range of the 1771-IR input module is 100 ohms platinum and 10 ohms other. Its backplane current range is 800mA.

1771-IR also helps protect your system by providing appropriate troubleshooting assistance. The module indicator light displays the intelligent input or output status to help you troubleshoot the device. The 1771-IR has an intelligent hybrid interface that can connect on/off devices such as switches, motor starters, buttons, indicator lights, and signalers. This unique feature also helps to save on system engineering and spare parts, as well as inventory and training costs. Each AC discrete input/output module has a bright status indicator light on the front panel.

1771-IR supports units of measurement in Celsius and Fahrenheit. Platinum sensors can be used in the temperature measurement range of -200 to+870 degrees Celsius, while copper sensors can be used in the temperature measurement range of -200 to+260 degrees Celsius. When used with platinum sensors and 0.3 degrees Celsius or 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit, it has a resistance range of 1.00 to 600.00 ohms and a resolution of 0.1 degrees Celsius or 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit.

1771-IR is compatible with PLC2, PLC3, and PLC5 controllers. It can also be installed in various chassis, such as 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B, and 1771-A4B I/O chassis. This module uses a 1771-WF rocker arm to terminate keyed signal wires between 10 and 12 or between 28 and 30.
