About 1797-ACNR15

Allen Bradley 1797-ACNR15 is a Flex Ex ControlNet media adapter. This module is designed specifically for use with Flex Ex I/O modules, which are specifically compatible for hazardous locations that require compliance with specific intrinsic safety levels.

The function of 1797-ACN15 is similar to that of a standard ControlNet communication adapter. This module comes with two (2) ControlNet ports for connecting ControlNet coaxial media cables. It supports linear ControlNet media, but 1797-ACNR15 is specifically designed for implementing ControlNet Ex redundant networks.

1797-ACNR15 supports the installation of up to eight (8) Flex Ex I/O modules. The media type is Ex ib IIB/IIC T4; AEx ib IIC T4; Ex ib IIB/IIC T4, AEx ib IIC T4, Class I Division 1 Groups AD T4 for Class I, Division 1 Groups AG T4, and IS module types. Supports a standard communication rate of 5Mbps, with built-in indicator lights such as Comm A red/GRN; Communication B red/green; Module status red/grn and power grn.

The power consumption of 1797-ACNR15 is 8.5 W, with a power consumption of 8.5 W and a thermal dissipation of 29 BTU/hr. When terminating the incoming wire of this module, the recommended wire size is 4 square millimetre (12 gauge) stranded copper wire, and the maximum insulation thickness is 1.2 mm (3/64 inch).

This module is a DIN rail mounted device. Only DIN rails made of galvanized yellow chromium steel DIN rails can be used. It is not recommended to use plastic DIN rails or any other DIN rails made of poor metal conductors or easily oxidized and corroded metals. Overtime, failure to use DIN rails made of recommended materials will result in intermittent disconnection of intrinsically safe grounding.

1797-ACNR15 is designed to accommodate up to 8 I/O modules, up to 128 I/O points, and a maximum transmission speed of 5 megabits per second. 1797-ACNR15 adopts an IP20 protection grade housing, with a maximum power consumption of 8.5 watts and a working temperature range of 20 to 70 degrees Celsius (4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit). It has fixed LED indicators that display communication, module, and power status. Its circuit conductors are made of 4.0mm square twisted wires, with a maximum insulation layer of 1.2mm. The shipping weight of 1797-ACNR15 is approximately 0.2 kilograms (0.4 pounds), with a total installation size of 94 x 94 x 91 millimeters (3.7 x 3.7 x 3.58 inches), compliant with CE, UL, c-UL, IECEx, and FM
