Programming equipment: Programmer is an indispensable device for PLC development, application, monitoring, operation, inspection and maintenance. It is used for programming, setting the system, monitoring the working status of PLC and the system controlled by PLC, but it does not directly participate in on-site control operation. Small programmer PLCs generally have handheld programmers, and currently, computers (running programming software) generally act as programmers. That is the upper computer of our system.
Information can be exchanged between PLC, upper computer, and other intelligent devices to form a unified whole, achieving decentralized and centralized control. Most PLCs have RS-232 interfaces, and some have built-in interfaces that support their respective communication protocols. The communication of PLC now mainly adopts data communication through Multipoint Interface (MPI) and PROFIBUS
The PLC software system consists of two parts: system program and user program. System programs include monitoring programs, compilers, diagnostic programs, etc., mainly used to manage the entire machine, translate program language into machine language, and diagnose machine faults. The system software is provided by the PLC manufacturer and has been solidified in EPROM, and cannot be directly accessed or interfered with. The user program is an application program (i.e. logical control) written by the user in the PLC programming language according to on-site control requirements, used to achieve various controls. STEP7 is a standard software package for configuring and programming SIMATIC programmable logic controllers, also known as user programs. We use STEP7 for hardware configuration, logic programming, and online monitoring of logic program execution results.
