1747-AIC AB
The isolation link coupler (1747-AIC) is used to connect SLC 500 series devices to the DH-485 network (as shown on page A-5). The coupler provides a 6-position detachable terminal block for connecting the DH-485 communication cable.
You must install a link coupler (1747-AIC) for each node on the network. If you plan to add nodes later, please provide additional link couplers during initial installation to avoid rewiring after network operation. The maximum length of the communication cable is 1219 m (4000 ft). This is the total cable distance from the first node to the last node on the network.
In the A series 1747-AIC, terminal 5 is called DATA B and terminal 4 is called DATA A. In this case, only terminal numbers are used and signal names DATA B and DATA A are ignored. The internal circuits of the A series are the same as those of the B series.
The network connection for the SLC 500 processor is provided by a 304.8mm (12 inch) cable with catalog numbers 1747-C11, which is included with the link coupler. The standard catalog number 1747-C10 provides network connectivity for peripheral devices, such as personal interface converters (1747-PIC), data table access modules (1747-DTAM-E), or handheld terminals (1747-PT1), each of which provides a 1.8 meter (6 foot) cable.
1747-AIC, panel mounted isolation link coupler. Used to connect SLC 5/01, SLC 5/02, and SLC 5/03 processors to the DH-485 network. When there are two or more SLC 500 processors on the chain, each processor module requires one 1747-AIC.
