About 1756-A13
1756-A13 is Allen Bradley’s ControlLogix chassis. This chassis provides a module housing with 13 module slots for installing ControlLogix controllers and I/O modules. In addition to providing installation slots, the chassis also carries the electronic circuits that make up the backplane. The backplane distributes the current used by each module to stimulate the normal operation of each circuit.
1756-A13 only supports horizontal installation. The minimum cabinet size required to install it is 60.9 x 76.2 x 20.3 centimeters (24 x 30 x 8 inches) and weighs 1.90 kilograms (4.2 pounds). It is directly installed onto the enclosure sub panel through the installation tabs provided at the top and bottom of the chassis. For A-series and B-series chassis, install this chassis within the temperature range of 0… 60 ° C (32… 140 ° F), and for C-series chassis, the installation temperature range is -25…+60 ° C (-13…+140 ° F). Its working vibration rating is 2 g @ 10… 500 Hz, and its working impact rating is 30 g. This chassis can be used in the Logix 5560, 5570, and 5580 product series.
The backplane current consumption of 1756-A13 is 1.5 A @ 1.2VDC; 4A/4A @ 3.3 VDC; 15 A/6 A @ 15 A/6 A and 2.8 A/2.8 A @ 24VDC. It has a power consumption of 5.4 watts and is rated with an open housing.
The chassis backplane distributes power to each module within the chassis by providing a high-speed communication path between modules. It requires Bulletin 1492 IFM or RTB to connect all field side wiring. The 1756-A13 standard chassis has a power on plug and unplug (RIUP) function, making it easy to maintain. To prevent replacement errors, it also provides electronic keying.
