About 1769-OF8C
Allen Bradley 1769-OF8C is a compact I/O module. This module is compatible with 1769 and some 1768 CompactLogix controllers as well as MicroLogix 1500 controllers. This module is an analog output module typically used to drive the final control element (FCE) of the control loop and transmit signals to the receiving and measuring elements.
The 1769-OF8C mainly has eight (8) single ended current output channels, which can be configured as 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA. It has a 16 bit to analog converter (DAC) with a specific resolution of 15.59 bits, 0.323 µ A/bit, suitable for 4-20 mA and 15.91 bits, 0.323 µ A/bit, suitable for 0-20 mA. Its conversion rate on all channels is 5ms, and its step response to 63% output is less than 2.9ms. The analog output range is 0-21 mA and 3.2-21 mA.
The typical final control elements (FCE) that can be driven by 1769-OF8C are modulation control valves, variable frequency drives (VFDs), positioners, and other devices. For use in automatic control loops, this module can be integrated into a proportional+integral+derivative (PID) controller embedded in the processor. The compatible receiving and measuring components that can receive signals from this device are panel instruments, data recorders, signal distributors, and other similar types of equipment.
The 1769-OF8C is a single width module that can be installed as part of local I/O and expansion I/O racks on 1769 and 1768 CompactLogix components. It can also be used with MicroLogix 1500 controllers.
