Allen Bradley 1771-ID16 is a general-purpose 120V AC/DC isolated input that is part of the 1771 digital AC/DC input module for PLC-5 processors. It has a customer selectable input filtering function that can suppress voltage transients caused by contact bounce or radiated electrical noise. The performance results are significant – improving power quality and extending product life, while minimizing electrical related downtime.
The factory set filtering time for 1771-ID16 120V AC/DC isolated input is 9ms. Due to filtering, typical signal delays are 9 or 18ms (turning AC input from open to closed) and 0.57ms (turning AC input from closed to open); For DC, its delay value is 9ms from on to off and 0.57ms from off to on. This module is used in conjunction with 1771-A1B or 1771-A4B or higher versions of I/O enclosures. Due to capacitive impedance input, there is an initial current associated with this input.
The connection to the 1771-ID16 digital module is made through the accompanying 40 terminal field 1771-WN wiring arm. The wiring arm is connected to the pivot rod of the I/O chassis. This allows for the removal or insertion of 1771-ID16 without disconnecting the wires. This module is designed for isolated circuit multiphase applications and can be used in conjunction with float switches, selector switches, limit switches, and buttons.
