About 1794-AENT

Allen Bradley 1794-AENT is a Flex I/O module used as a communication adapter. This communication adapter enables the Flex I/O rack to connect to Ethernet and exchange data with controllers that support Ethernet. This adapter allows for the installation of up to eight (8) Flex I/O modules, particularly supporting discrete input and output as well as analog input and output modules.

The Flex I/O product series is a compact and cost-effective solution for implementing distributed I/O architectures. 1794-AENT achieves this through a single RJ45 port that supports the Ethernet I/P protocol. It supports a communication rate of 10/100 Mbps.

1794-AENT supports linear topology. Use the thumb wheel switch provided with the module or configure the network address using a DHCP server. By default, the adapter switch is set to 999.

When establishing the connection with the module (such as power connection), the recommended wire diameter range is 0.33… 3.31 square millimetre (22… 12 AWG) stranded copper wire. The recommended insulation rating for wires is 75 ° C (167 ° F) or higher, with a maximum insulation thickness of 1.2 millimeters (3/64 inches). The recommended terminal screw torque is 0.8 Nm (7 lb in.). The physical dimensions of this module are 87 x 94 x 92 millimeters or 3.4 x 3.7 x 3.6 inches, and it weighs 227 grams (8.01 ounces). 1794-AENT Flex I/O Communication

It supports up to eight I/O modules. It has a current load of 450 mA under a 24 VDC power supply, and a nominal power input voltage of 24 VDC. The operating voltage range of 1794-AENT is 19.2 to 31.2 VDC, including 5% AC ripple. The maximum Flexbus output current of this module is 640 mA, and its maximum power consumption is 550 mA and 440 mA at 24 V DC. The maximum power consumption of the 1794-AENT module is 7.3 W at 19.2 V DC, and the thermal dissipation is 24.9 BTU/hour at 19.2 V DC. This module has a red/green module status indicator, a red/green network status indicator, and a green link status indicator. It has an open housing that can be installed using DIN rails and uses RJ-45 Class 5 cables. The size of the entire 1794-AENT module is 3.4 x 3.7 x 2.7 inches.

We strongly recommend that you use galvanized yellow chromium steel DIN rail installation to ground this module to the chassis ground. The use of DIN rail mounting bases made of other materials with corrosion or oxidation risks may lead to improper grounding and discontinuity. This module can also be installed on the wall. The 1794-AENT adapter module connects Ethernet/IP capable controllers such as CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers to FLEX I/O. The compatible terminal base units include 1794-TB3G and 1794-TB3GS units. Ensure the use of a power supply that meets the protection ultra-low voltage (PELV) or safety ultra-low voltage (SELV) requirements to comply with the CE Low Voltage Directive (LVD). When your application requires an internet/intranet connection on an Ethernet network, it is recommended to use the 1794-AENT module,
