About IC670MDL240

IC670MDL240 is a sixteen (16) channel discrete input module from the field control I/O module. This module is used to connect signal devices with two (2) states or binary operations, such as button devices, limit switches, auxiliary contacts, proximity sensors, and other similar operating devices. This module operates as an expansion module and is installed along the Bus Interface Unit (BIU), capable of absorbing up to 77 mA of current.

The IC670MDL240 input channel accepts a nominal signal voltage of 120 VAC within the input range of 0-132 VAC, with an input current of 15 mA per point at an input frequency of 47-63 Hz. The typical input impedance of the module is 8.6 KOhms, the on state voltage is 70 VAC to 120 VAC, and the off state voltage is 0-20 VAC; 5-15 mA open state current and 0 mA to 2.5 mA closed state current. The opening response time of this module is 12 milliseconds, with a typical value of 20 milliseconds, while the closing response time is 25 milliseconds, with a maximum response time of 40 milliseconds. An external 120 VAC power supply voltage must be provided to the module to power the input devices connected to the IC670MDL240 discrete input module.

IC670MDL240 is equipped with independent LED status indicators to describe the logic 0 and logic 1 status of the input channel. At logic 0, the input point receives the off state level of voltage and current, while at logic 1, the input channel actively receives the on state level of voltage and current, which causes the LED indicator to be activated. In addition, a dedicated PWR LED indicator is provided to display the power received from the backplane.

GE Fanuc’s Field Control IC670MDL240 module is an input module with 16 grouped input points. It operates on 120 VAC and receives power from the BIU of the host system, but the input device needs to obtain power from an external power source with a rated voltage of 120 VAC. The top of the IC670MDL240 module has LEDs, which are installed below the transparent material panel. There is a PWR LED indicating the backplane power supply and a separate LED for each input to display whether the input is on or off.
