MVI56-PDPMV1 is a ControlLogix platform compatible module. This module is a Profibus DP V1 compatible module that serves as the main device in the Profibus network. This module was developed by Prosoft Technology, a partner company of Rockwell Automation, which developed Allen Bradley PLC compatible modules.
MVI56-PDPMV1 has one (1) optically isolated RS485 port and supports the PROFIBUS DP version 1 protocol. A maximum of 125 PROFIBUS slave devices can be connected to this port, which is also compatible with PPPROFIBUS relays. This module can configure outputs of up to 1536 loop bytes and 1536 bytes, and supports extended diagnostic data.
Other functions supported by MVI56-PDPMV1 include alarm processing, synchronization and freezing commands, support for PROFIDrive version 3.1 parameter read and write operations, multicast, and broadcast telegrams.
MVI56-PDPMV1 has embedded LED status indicators to describe the operating status of the module. These LED indicators include ready, running, error, and token indicators.
The MVI56-PDPMV1 PROFIBUS communication module is installed on the 1756 ControlLogix rack. It occupies a slot in the chassis and draws 800 mA @ 5VDC and 3 mA @ 24VDC currents from the backplane. Its operating temperature is 0 ° C to 60 ° C (32 ° F to 140 ° F), and its storage temperature is -40 ° C to 85 ° C (-40 ° F to 185 ° F). The module must be installed in a suitable enclosure, with vibration not exceeding 5 g, impact not exceeding 30 g, relative humidity of 5% to 95%, and no condensation within the range of 10 Hz to 150 Hz.
