VMIVME-4116 GE
features:
16 bit DAC per channel
Buffered voltage output (± 10V at 5 mA)
Double buffered data latch, allowing simultaneous updates of all channels
Front panel fault LED
High reliability DIN type output connector
Multiple programmable outputs for testing analog input multiplexer boards
The VMIC VMIVME-4116 digital to analog converter (DAC) board performs digital to analog conversion on a 16 bit positive true offset binary or binary complement word, with an analog output range of – 10 to+10 V. This provides a resolution of 305 µ V for each 1 LSB varying digital input. The buffered output voltage is stable within 1/2 LSB within 10 µ s.
The DAC provides a digital analog integrated circuit (IC) for each channel. The processor loads a control and status register (CSR) that controls the functions of the circuit board. The processor can read the CSR at any time. Each of the eight DACs is preceded by a double buffered data latch. Data latches allow for diversity in the way DAC analog output is updated.
DAC can convert new data in three ways. Each method is enabled/disabled by on-board jumpers and further controlled by CSR that must be loaded by the user.
